Documents required in order to obtain a Notification of Food Product from Ministry of Health in Vietnam

According to the provisions of Vietnamese law, organizations and individuals that import food products before being put on the market must be responsible for public registration food products at the Agency of Food Safety - Ministry of Health (Or Notification of Food Product).

This organization or individual is only allowed to put the product on the market after it has been announced and has a confirmation number of the Agency of Food Safety and takes full responsibility for the safety of food products put on the market and must comply with the provisions of Vietnamese law.

LEGAL FOUNDATION

Law on Food Safety 2010;
Decree No. 43/2017 / ND-CP dated April 14, 2017 of the Government providing for the
labeling of goods;
Decree No. 15/2018 / ND-CP detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Food Safety;
Decree 69/2018 / ND-CP dated 15 May 2018 of the
Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management;
Circular 18/2019 / TTBYT dated 17 July 2019 of the Ministry of Health guiding Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
in the production and trading of health food.

Document required:

1. Business license certificate; Registered in food business (code 4632) – original scanned copy.

2. Photos of product label circulating in the country of origin, it should be market actual photos (clearly capture sides) of the packaging of the product or design of the product label)

3. Product testing results within 12 months (If any) – original scanned copy.

4. Certificate of free sale (CFS); or Export Certificate (CE) or Health Certificate (HC) issued by the competent authority of the country of origin / export (consul legalized according to provisions of the law). - original scanned copy.

5. Specification of product_ SPEC(SPEC version is supplied by the manufacturer) - Original scanned copy.

6. Scientific evidence proving the use of the product or of the ingredients that make up the claimed effect; (If any) - Original scanned copy.

7. If your products are health supplement foods, Original scanned copy of the certificate of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) or an equivalent certificate will be required. In some cases, the agency can asked for the original copy.

8. Documents supporting the logos printed on the original label of the product;

9. Complete product samples for testing; (If no test results are available).

10. Details about the product:

+ Status, color, taste;

+ Composition;

+ Use of the product;

+ Term of use;

+ Instructions for use and storage;

+ Packaging materials and packaging specifications;

+ Name and address of manufacturer;
